Mr. Richard Frank Allen, 70, of Trinity, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at High Point Regional Hospital. 

Born August 6, 1946, in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, Richard was the son of the late Theodore David and Evelyn Mae Vopasek Allen. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Allen. Richie was a graduate of Guilford College where he played basketball and baseball for the Quakers. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Duke Blue Devils and the New York Yankees. He was active in Little League Baseball in the Archdale Trinity area serving as a baseball coach for a number of years. He was retired from Billings Freight Line. 

He is survived by his wife 48 years, Sarah Pearce Allen, of the home; two sons, Scott Allen and wife, Barbara, and Greg Allen and wife, Christy all of Archdale; seven grandchildren, Bren Allen, Rebecca Allen, Connor Allen, Trevor Allen, Brittany Sibbett and husband, Warren, Danielle Warr and wife, Kayla, and Hannah Willard; and two great grandsons, Weston and Grayson.
