Linda Shadel, 67, of Wall Township passed away suddenly on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013. Linda grew up in Rutherford, NJ, where she attended Rutherford Public Schools and as part of her love of music, learned to play the organ, piano and many other musical instruments. After high school, Linda attended Montclair State University where she earned her Bachelors in Music Education. Directly following, Linda moved to the Wall/Belmar area and taught elementary music in the Neptune school system and where she continued to teach for over 32 years. Linda went on to earn her Master's Degree in Music Education from Trenton State University during this time. In addition to teaching, Linda also was the principal organist & choir director at a few different churches over the years starting at the Rutherford Congregational Church when she was 12 years old and finally for the Saint James Episcopal Church in Bradley Beach, NJ at which she directed and played for 33 years. Linda also greatly enjoyed teaching private piano lessons. Linda was much loved by virtually everyone who knew her: her family, friends, students, choir and church members. 

Linda is survived by her brother and his wife, William Shadel & Barbara Thomson; her nieces, nephews and their spouses: Marietta Shadel, Peggy & John Salierno, Joseph Shadel, Elizabeth & Thomas Hughes, William Paul Shadel and Steven & Theresa Messineo. Linda was also a much beloved great-aunt of all of her grand-nieces and grand-nephews. 

A memorial service for Linda will be held on Tuesday, August 13 at 7:00pm at Saint James Episcopal Church, 605 4th Avenue, Bradley Beach, NJ 07720. All who were close to Linda are invited to attend.
