Margo Shostik Poole

OCTOBER 20, 1946 – FEBRUARY 2, 2024

 

Margo Shostik Poole, 77, of Manassas, Virginia, passed away on February 2, 2024, at Prince William Hospital.

Margo was born in Passaic, New Jersey to John Shostik, Sr. and Elizabeth Snyder Shostik on October 20, 1946. Margo grew up in Rutherford, New Jersey and graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Margo married William “Bill” Poole on May 20, 1972, in Rutherford, New Jersey.

Margo devoted 25 years to educating elementary school students within the Fairfax County Public School system. Upon retiring from teaching, her passion for working with children led her to join the Childtime Learning Center. Beyond her professional pursuits, she remained deeply engaged in her community, offering assistance and support to neighbors, friends, and former students whenever needed. Additionally, Margo was a charter member at Burke Presbyterian Church.

Margo is preceded in death by her parents John and Elizabeth Shostik.

Margo is survived by her husband Bill Poole, her three daughters Christy Poole, Kathy Davis (Chris), Karen Ale (John), sister Joan Franchini (John) and brother John Shostik (Kathy), and her grandchildren Sophia Ale and Maya and Arlo Davis.

Margo’s family would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to friends and extended family members who have offered unwavering support during this challenging time. Additionally, we extend our sincere gratitude to the dedicated doctors, nurses, and administrative staff of the Critical Care Unit at Prince William Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion.
