In Memoriam

Timothy O'Shea (Coach)

Timothy O’Shea, 88, of Trinity, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2022. He was born in Newark, NJ to Cecelia and Timothy F. O’Shea on November 19, 1933.
Tim graduated from Panzer College of Physical Education and Hygiene with a B.S. degree and taught Physical Education and Health in the Rutherford, NJ School District for 37 years. He was a member of the NEA and the New Jersey and Bergen County Retirees Education Association. He was also a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. Tim was an ace left-handed pitcher, playing baseball from a young age, including college. One of the greatest honors of his life was being drafted by the New York Yankees. However, Uncle Sam’s draft took precedence, and he entered the U.S. Army, where he served for two years, followed by four years in the Army Reserves.
Tim was a devout and faithful Catholic, a former member of St. Elizabeth’s Church in Wyckoff, NJ and Incarnation Catholic Church, Tampa, FL, and currently a member of St. Peter the Apostle Church, Trinity, FL.
Tim retired from teaching in 1995 and relocated to the Tampa Bay area. He was an avid golfer and sports fan, especially hockey, and loved the Tampa Bay Lightning, Rays and Bucs, and still cheered for the New York Rangers, Yankees, and Giants.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Raymond. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Carol Lee, and his four children, Maureen (and Jim) Powell, Timothy (and Cathy) O’Shea, Stephen (and Ellen) O’Shea, and Lee-Ellen (and Steven) Pisauro. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, Kristin (and Chris) Fogarty, Kate (and Kenny) Rice, Carol Ann (and Ian) Schwartz, Emily (and Gabe) Yost, Erin O’Shea, Christopher O’Shea, Taylor (and Andrew) Olsen, Steven Pisauro, and Sam Pisauro, and seven great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Tim’s name to: St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church Building Fund, 12747 Interlaken Road, Trinity, FL 3465
