John Matteo (Changed his name) 

John J. Matthew of Denver, Colorado, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2009, at the age of 63, after four years of deteriorating health. John was born in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey, the son of John and Ann. He is survived by his loving wife, companion, best friend, business partner, soul mate and the love of his life, Ellie Matthew. John and Ellie were fortunate to have spent over thirty-five years in love. In addition to Ellie, John is survived by two sons and three daughters, John III of Lakewood, Colorado, Marcus of Palm Coast, Florida, Rhea (Russ) Villanti of Howell, New Jersey, Maura (Mark) Fiederowicz of Red Bank, New Jersey, Lori (Jon) Pass of Cotuit, Massachusetts, and one grandson, Jacob Pass. His surviving siblings are Bernadette Reynolds, Ann Zack, Lorraine Beck, Roxanne Ignatius and Dolores Yaroszevfski. John is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. John grew up in New Jersey and spent several years in New York before moving to Colorado. He attended the University of Colorado, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and graduated from the University of Colorado School of Law. John practiced law for a short time. For several years John and Ellie operated their own real estate brokerage, before John joined RE/MAX Alliance. John retired from real estate in 2002 as the number one individual RE/MAX agent for the State of Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Region. After retiring John and Ellie spent a great deal of time traveling abroad and made several extensive road trips within the United States. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M., Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at the Archdiocese of Denver Mortuary.
